Sprint.com Self Care Upgrades Underway

Just a quick note for all of you wondering what's going on with Sprint.com and why you may not be able to login... this will hopefully be completed by Friday evening, but could roll over into Saturday. Here's the note we've posted to care...
Customers are unable to access their My Sprint account or the Digital Lounge thru sprint.com due to the site being splashed.  Customers will not be able to log into thier MySprint account to manage their account including checking usage, paying or viewing bills or swapping phones.  The Digital Lounge is also splashed and customers will not be able to make a purchase thru sprint.com.  Customers ARE able to access Sprint and Digital Lounge thru thier handsets.

Just remember you can always dial *2 or sprint.com/chat for any issue you have for a quick resolution, or manage your account via your handset. Sorry for the downtime, but it's necessary to keep great things coming down the pipeline!

  1. So, what "great things" are you talking about?????

I think it is clear that we can expect great things from Sprint. After all, The-Cell-Carrier-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things. Terrible! Yes. But great.

  3. Sprint.com is accessible from your handset....unless it's a MotoQ9c, in which case the sprint site can't decide whether you are on a PC or a phone, and whatever part of the site you try to go to after logging in comes up with the message "content not available for this device."

I soooo want a Palm Pre.

  5. the great thing is probably improved web efficiency, which leads to less calls to customer service, which leads to a better experience as a Sprint customer...

that, or somebody "splashed" on the floor of the digital lounge...

  6. So...I'm supposed to ensure that I am remaining below 5 GB on my broadband account (month restarts on the 18th), but I can't access my account now for three days to see how I am doing (was at 4.3 GB four days ago). Freakin' brilliant!

  7. Any updates from Sprint to the employees? An ETA of when the site will be up? New temporarily unavailable message: We’re dealing with a rare outage problem on My Sprint right now. We’ve got our best people working around the clock on the issue and hope to have it resolved very soon.

We know this is a frustrating experience for you, and we apologize. To manage your account in the meantime, use your phone’s web browser or contact us as listed below:

  8. It's amazing how inflexible users are. I work for a tech company that manages many companies' IT infrastructure and end-users have no idea how complex the environments really are. Between the databases, middleware, web servers, custom apps, network, SAN, custom code, 3rd party vendors, application developers, changes and outages sometimes it's hard to believe the environment stays up as long as it does. Yes, there are ways to ensure 5 9's % of uptime, but they're exorbitantly expensive, most of the time not necessary, and increase the complexity of the environment, typically leading to more frequent and longer outages. The world is not ending, and I appreciate Sprint's efforts to upgrade and/or patch their system.

It was up for a while, I logged on and checked various pages, all looked essentially the same right down to the row HTML when I inspected that.

    Now it's down again.

Sounds like whatever problems they discovered the other day aren't fixed yet.

Seems odd things couldn't be rolled back to "before the problem" unless the problem has been there a long, long time, but was just recently recognized.

Perhaps it is related to the recently published "security hole" in the Sprint site?

    Any other ideas?

  11. this is a complex, multisystem issue. last i checked today it was better, but not resolved. sounds like the user login system got hammered by some random script ran awry which caused a domino effect. they've been working round the clock.

definitely not an upgrade. definitely not pre related.
