So, there is a limit to the unlimitedness of my unlimited EVO? Sounds hypocritical given all the "Truly Unlimited" advertising.
ReplyDeleteCurrent Hot Spot add-on has 5GB limit. Data used by your phone directly is unlimited. So I am assuming we can keep the current $29.99 5GB plan for now ( until contract renewal?? ) then we have to choose $19.99 2GB or $49.99 6GB plan.
ReplyDeleteI checked my account and it looks like I can switch now to 2GB or 6GB add-on service. I assume it's one of those things where I can choose the new add-on now but then I can never go back to the 5GB plan.

ReplyDeleteSo the 1GB data plan for tablets is expiring too? What does that mean for my HTC EVO View plan I have now?
ReplyDeleteUnlimited data is for a primary device. If Sprint were to allow unlimited data for every device that could potentially be connected to any hotspot device, they'd go bust. I personally think this is an extremely cool program, and a heck of a lot better than what is currently being offered.
ReplyDeleteI just signed up a few hours ago for 5GB at $29.99 on my new EVO LTE line...how will this affect that?
ReplyDeleteShouldn't go over the cap if the EVO LTE doesn't show up ; )
ReplyDelete(sorry, I just couldn't resist)
Root your phone....free hotspot...win.
ReplyDeleteSomeone had to say it!! :) Wish we had more news on the delay. Is this on hold such that phones won't ship until AFTER the 8/28/2012 hearing??
ReplyDelete@OrogenousZones... That date is related to the separate HTC case against Apple for their patent infringements.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be comical justice if the iPhone5 gets held at customs if HTC prevails.
How long until this is copied to the cell phone plans too? My guess is after LTE is fully in place and halfway between most peoples EVO LTE contracts lol.
ReplyDeleteI went into my existing account and these new plans are the only options I have now.
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like if you are on the old $29 plan it might go away even if you are under contract and you'll have to choose from one of the other options.
I've occasionally enabled hotspot on my EVO original for a day or two in a pinch. It was great because they would prorate it at essentially $1/day.
Under the International information it indicates that there is a minimum 1 month MRC required. I'm hoping that doesn't apply to the non-international plans, but afraid it will or it could be easily gamed. (Turn it on for a couple of days, use up the the cap, then turn it off)

ReplyDeleteThe data allowances for these multi-country packages are a pittance. 80mb isn't enough for a months' worth of emails...
ReplyDeleteI just got our EVO Lte phones today at Best Buy. I was told the old $29/5 GB plan is not compatible with the new phone and I was forced to change to one of the new plans.
